Action!!!

A shot today that falls purely into my orignal brief for this blog. It is a photo that I took at work today. It was also like I was taking pictures for work today. Glenn, one of my trainers, asked me to take some shots for his new website. Got to shoot about 150 shots and thought I would show this one.

Have a look at at my works website to see what else we do. I have a Personal training studio in the City of London.

Enjoy

Is it Spring Already?

Went out to take some shots and realised that colour was starting to creep back in to everything. Flowers are coming through and the berries are out. Don't know if it will last but who knows what Global warming is going to throw at us.

Hope the weather is good where you are

I was just not meant to post these last few days!

So, got home on friday night, got the laptop out to do my post and I had no power and like the dumb ass I am I had left the power lead at work. So had to go in to work on Saturday to get it.

Went out on Saturday and took some shots.

I have taken to using NEF format for my shots. For some strange reason, I could not get a jpg conversion from it on Saturday, hence no post. Seen as though I am a bit sparse on shots, I am only going to post one tonight.

A bit of DOF (depth-of-focus) stuff tonight.

Enjoy

Reflection

I am working on my site that shows just my favorite shots. It is not quite ready yet, but is online. Check the link on the right. Once I have it all ready I will post a link to it in a blog post. This blog is for me to post a shot, any shot every day, hopefully showing what or where i have been recently. My site will be for my favorite shots past, present and future. I hope you enjoy.

A shot from the weekend, near Borough High Street.

I missed a fantastic Sunset

Was driving to pick up Mandy from work on Saturday and was amazed at the sunset. The sun was massive and shining between a low layer of clouds and the buildings. I was spewing as I didn't have my camera with me. Took a shot with my mobile as I was driving - could have got three points on my licence for that. Not great but at least you can get an idea of the colours.

The other shot was from the expidition on Saturday. It is the covering on the building outside St Thomas Hospital.

More to come.

Thanks Sam!

In my travels around the blogsphere I come across quite a few diiferent blogs, but this week found a particularly useful one. You will notice a few changes to my pictures in the future, thanks to the many tips I have found on this blog already. The first thing you will see is the copyright on all my pics from now on. Check the bottom right corner.

If you are into photography and need some tips to improve your shots and your knowledge of Photoshop, check it out. It is written by Sam Lamp and is called The Waterfall Hunter.

A bit short of great inspirational subjects but hopefully will get some this weekend.

Here is my first copyrighted photo.

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Hope you had a good day today Ol' Man. Thanks for the picture of the Baobab tree.

You can all see it here (compliments of my dad). It is a picture of my only remaining Bonsai Tree in South Africa. I have had the tree 14 years and is probably 16 years old. It was just a tiny sapling when I got it. It is really starting to take shape. To see one in the wild click here.

The other pic was taken from the bus on the way home. Not the greatest shot but I like the shadowy reflection of me taking the shot just above Tower bridge.

Happy Valentines

Happy Valentines to you all.

Managed to go out with memory in the camera today. Took a few shots that looked good when I saw the scene, but not great on camera. I had my telephoto lense on so was limited with options on framing. I now realise my camera is due some serious maintenance and cleaning. All my lenses have dust on them and the d70 camera body needs a good clean. Might be a job for tonight. How romantic am I?

Anyway, got berated today for my bad attitude to blogging. On which note I promise to make a better effort to post every day and at least have something interesting to say, if I don't have a decent pic.

Here is todays.

No post yesterday - and lucky to get one today

Hi all, sorry for no post yesterday. Life is getting in the way. Manage to go out without a memory card in the camera, so no new shots. Here is one from the weekend.

Southbank at night

After watching the rather boring rugby this afternoon, I took a quick walk down the Southbank to Nando's chickenland.... yum!!

With the evening drawing in and St Paul's al lit up I could not resist a few shots. Got a few drops of rain on my lense so the shots had some spots on them. Got to love Photoshop.

Hope you like them.

Continued IT Problems

Still having problems with the Apple Macbook. Since the Securty update on 25th January I have been unable to connect to my wireless networks. Luckily one of my clients has kindly give me an extra long Ethernet cable so can at least sit on the couch and do my posts. Hopefully this will be sorted by the end of next week. Not getting my hopes up as I have tried all the fixes suggested by the telephone support. Looks like i will have to take a trip to the Apple genius bar at the Apple store on Regents Street. I guess I will have to stand in a queue with 300 people with broken Ipods.

Anyway, I was asked today if I had taken any shots of the snow on Thursday and had to admit I had, but to be fair they are rubbish. Seen as though I have nothing else to post, here they are..... not very good.

Just a quick message to the Girfriend Mandy.... Get well soon baby x x x.

Survived the Snow!

About two weeks ago I posted about the travel chaos caused by the snow and listed a few of the excuses that London Transport has used to explain the delays and cancellations. Well, they came up with a new one today. The snow today was too sticky and big apparently. The abnormally large snowflakes were sticking together and not melting when they hit the floor, causing "drifting" if you can call it that.

Clearly, I did not take this shot today. It was taken yesterday when the sun was shining. This guy was running around outside my flat and had to take a few.

Hope you like.

Impressive Staircase

What a busy but good day! Will keep you informed of developments when I can, but for now it is all top secret, at least online it is.

Today's installment comes from The Renaissance Chancery Court on High Holborn. It used to be called the Pearl Building and is know for this stairwell.

I thought it was quite impressive, and made a second trip back to the hotel (5*) to get a shot.

Hope you like it.

Looking forward to some snow tonight, so might get some interesting white shots tomorrow.

Only one today

A bit busy on the work front. Lots of exciting things coming up, which means my photography has to take a back seat. Dredging my recent shots for posts and thought this was quite interesting. May have a few shots pertaining to "my Life" rather than photography over the next few days.

Just another manic Monday!

A couple more shots from my walk on the weekend. One from the Millenium footbridge, through the glass sign at St Pauls and the other of the tower at the Tate.

A bit busy with work at the mo so nothing exciting to report.

Will have to come up with something for tomorrow.

See you then.

Nearly Forgot.

Got everything ready to post and then just put my computer away. Only had a quick look at my blog before I got down to some serious movie watching and realised I hadn't posted.

Another shot from the walk down the South Bank on Saturday. What a lovely day.

I am still here!

Sorry, I can tell that you all missed me from all the comments you have sent me (0 in total). Maybe you are quite pleased that I have not posted for a while.

I have to blame Apple completely. I received a software update and after it prompted me to restart, my laptop has been unable to connect to my wireless networks. No access, no Posts. No one out there seems to be able to help me with my problem. I have resorted to connecting using an extra long ethernet cable.

Well, it was a lovely day today so I got the camera out and started snapping. Here are two that I like. Hope you do to.
